The Silesian Jazz Orchestra based in Wroclaw (Breslau) was launched in 2016 to specialize in the utmost criterion quality of Jazz performance in the region. The SJO encompasses two ensembles, an 18 piece Big Band with supplementary option of 3 vocalists as well as the 2020 inaugurated additional 13 piece SJO Soul Showband. All SJO artists are selected elite accomplished professional Jazz musicians from Silesia, various parts of Poland as well as performers from abroad.

Artistic and Music Director of the SJO is the internationally acclaimed Sigmund Lindner while the Co-ordinator being accomplished virtuoso Tomasz Pruchnicki. The Silesian Jazz Orchestra’s vast extensive repertoire includes numerous idioms ranging from the contemporary spectrum through to conventional instrumental and vocal styles. SJO Soul Showband specializes in Afro-American Soul Motown genres.
